How do you classify the encoder?

If you want to control the motors accurately,you will need something like this,because it helps you to decipher the spinning motors.


The photoelectric encoder applied the principle of photoelectric conversion,which can convert the mechanical geometric displacement of the output shaft to pulse or digital quantity.This is the most used sensors,the light code disc coaxial with the motor,the motor rotates,encoder(grating)with motor rotate speed,reflects the current motor speed.

It consists mainly of light source,coder,optical system and circuit.So let's take a look at different types of photocoders.

1.An incremental encoder

It can convert displacement into periodic signal,then convert the electrical signals into count pulse,to rotate the incremental encoder output pulse when the rotation,to know its position by counting device.And starting from zero position mark is to determine the number of pulses,when power outage,there cannot be any movement,encoder again on electrical work,in the process of the encoder output pulse,also can't be a pulse interference and loss,otherwise,will offset zero point counting device memory.The wrong result is difficult to find,if you can't locate the reference points accurately,you can't guarantee the accuracy of the location.So you always have to look for a reference point.But such coders do not suffer from power outages or interference.

The incremental encoder USES the photoelectric conversion principle to output A,B,and Z three group wave pulses;A,B,and B have A 90-degree pulse,which is able to determine the direction of the rotation of the motor,while Z outputs one pulse per revolution,which is used to locate the base point.This coder principle constructs simple,mechanical average,and life can reach tens of thousands of hours,with strong anti-jamming ability and high reliability.But it is the absolute location information that can't output the rotation.

2.absolute coder

Absolute encoder type each location corresponding to a certain numerical code,so it's only with the measurement value for start and stop position,and has nothing to do with the measurement in the middle of the process.The location is determined by the reading of the output code.When the power is disconnected,the absolute coder does not separate from the actual location.When the battery is recharged,the position reading is still current.

An absolute encoder can directly perform a large amount of output,and there will be a number of codes on the code disk,and the number of codes is the binary digit.Each line is made up of light and opaque sectors,which are collected by a photoelectric sensor.In encoder on both sides of the set has a light source and light sensor respectively,so that light sensor can according to whether to accept to the light signal level conversion,output binary number.And output different numeric codes in different locations.So you can check the absolute location.But the resolution is determined by the number of bits,which means that the accuracy depends on the number.Advantages:the absolute value of the Angle coordinates can be read directly,without the accumulated error,the location information will not be lost after the power removal.The anti-interference characteristics of encoder and the reliability of data are greatly improved.

3.Hybrid absolute value encoder

Hybrid absolute value encoder,which outputs two sets of information:a set of information to detect a magnetic pole position with absolute information function;The other group is completely identical to the output information of the incremental encoder.

4.The rotating transformer

Rotating transformer referred to as"spin growing,is specially the electromagnetic design of high performance silicon steel laminated and enameled wire,compared with using photoelectric encoder technology,heat resistant,resistant to vibration.Resistance to impact,oil pollution,and even corrosion resistance.A pair of extreme(single-speed)spins can be seen as a single loop absolute feedback system,with the most extensive applications.

5.the cosine servo motor encoder
